What is Play Therapy?
Play therapy is a form of counseling that uses play to communicate with children to prevent or resolve psychosocial challenges. This is thought to help them towards better social integration, growth and development, and trauma resolution. The Association for Play Therapy states, "...child play therapy is a way of being with the child that honors their unique developmental level and looks for ways of helping in the 'language' of the child – play. Licensed mental health professionals therapeutically use play to help their clients."
What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a form of psychotherapy with roots in existing evidence-based therapies. It has been clinically proven to achieve benefits much more rapidly (usually within 1-5 sessions), and uses a combination of mindful reflection and rapid eye movement. ART is used with such problems as trauma, phobias, addiction, anxiety, depression and stress.
